Diet For Weight Loss

I like to think that when God created all his favourite places in the world He took the offcuts and made this beautiful valley. The diversity of soils we are blessed with form a patchwork of terroir that leads you to the discovery of a small piece of Burgundy, a little bit of Champagne, some Alsace, some Sancerre...

I know the soil of Weltevrede. I grew up playing in it, as did my father and his father before him, ever since my great-grandfather bought this land in 1912. He was obviously well satisfied with the soil and climate, our terroir, and named it Weltevrede.

Rooted in broken shale rock slopes these Chardonnay vines bear fruit with juicy elegance and lively lime-like flavours. The wine expresses its origin in a unique oystershell minerality.

Intense and focussed. Many describe this one as Chablis-like, tighter style with a beautiful feminine elegance and lingering aftertaste.

Grown on rust coloured soil on calcrete (limestone) formations, remnants of an ancient water table, this Chardonnay bears thick skinned berries with rich extract.

Rusted Soil has a rich tropical peachiness with a chalky minerality that keeps it eminently drinkable. When matured it shows more and more ripe yellow fruit, marmalade and toast with a rich mouth filling finish.

Some of the oldest Gewurztraminer vineyards in South Africa are planted on south facing slopes of Weltevrede Estate. Rooted in shale and exposed to south eastern breezes, cool night temperatures ensure the development of attractive aromas.

This wine is an extrovert, an eccentric food lover with perfumed rose and litchi aromas.
